My First Review! Blood Red Road!

Hey everyone!

This is my first ever post on this blog, and I'm EXTREMELY excited about it! I hope to do many reviews of books and many hauls, especially YA! So, to begin this adventure, I thought I'd review one of my favourite books ever - Blood Red Road by Moira Young.

Synopsis:

Saba has spent her whole life in Silverlake, a dried-up wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms. The Wrecker civilisation has long been destroyed, leaving only landfills for Saba and her family to scavenge from. That's fine by her, as long as her beloved twin brother Lugh is around. But when a monster sandstorm arrives, along with four cloaked horsemen, Saba's world is shattered. Lugh is captured, and Saba embarks on an epic quest to get him back.

She faces the unknown as she ventures into dark and mysterious lands. She must trust no one, even the handsome thief who wants to protect and help her. As she deepens into her journey, things get even darker and even more exciting!

My review:

Oh my, where to begin! I can't say enough how much I enjoyed this book. It was refreshing, exciting, and had me hooked on every page.

One of the things that had me instantly drawn into the book was the unique setting and storyline. I haven't read anything like this before, and finally seeing something on the bookshelves was really exciting.

Let's get onto the characters. The main character is Saba - a character I adore. She's so strong, stubborn, tackles problems head on, and will do anything to protect her brother and her feelings. You feel her emotions and pain, and understand the way she thinks. She is a true heroin, and is one of my favourite characters from any YA book.

And then there's Jack. Oh my. Jack is the extremely handsome thief, who runs into Saba, and agrees to help find her brother. I have to say, Jack and Saba's relationship by far has the most tension, chemistry and connection, than any other romance I've read recently. Jack certainly will make you swoon, with his charms, good looks and humour.

I certainly think you should read this book, since it's one of the most exciting and thrilling adventures around. You will not be disappointed!!!
